Spent the week traveling rural Thailand in a van with our driver, Pee See. Chilled in bamboo houses and played the blues with a Karen pastor. Some of the village girls decided to call me tukate, which means lizard. Stayed in a home that had ten calendars hanging in one room. Ate magical rainbow ice cream. Saw a flying beetle that sounded like a helicopter. Visited a refugee camp and heard the stories of those transplanted from their homes. Confronted places of deep despair and hope.
